Oak Crest offers a state-of-the-art fitness center complete with complimentary personal training service to assist residents with their fitness needs.
Our first emphasis is health maintenance and wellness and this is accomplished through a variety of programs offered here at Oak Crest. Wellness programs and group exercise classes, as well as personal weight training programs, general fitness evaluations, and physical therapy, are offered. Should your individual situation or health needs change while living at Oak Crest, you are assured access to our on-campus Assisted Living and Health Care Center. Your health and wellness is important to us. At Oak Crest you will receive the assistance you need when you need it right here on campus.
Pool & Spa
At Oak Crest, our pool and spa area provides a comfortable and accessible space for older adults to stay active and relaxed. Residents can enjoy a refreshing swim, participate in low-impact water aerobics, or soothe muscles in the hot tub. Designed with an easy-access entry point, the facility supports mobility and encourages both social engagement and personal relaxation. The pool and spa at Oak Crest promote overall well-being, offering an enjoyable way to maintain an active lifestyle.
LIbrary
Our facility features a well-organized and well-stocked library, designed to provide a quiet and welcoming space for residents to enjoy reading, learning, and relaxation. Our extensive collection includes a diverse range of books spanning all genres, from classic literature and bestsellers to biographies, history, and self-enrichment titles. In addition to books, residents have access to newspapers and magazines. Comfortable seating areas provide the perfect spot to enjoy a good book or simply unwind in a peaceful environment. Whether you’re looking to stay informed, entertained, or intellectually engaged, our library offers a valuable resource to support lifelong learning and personal enjoyment.
Beauty Salon
At Oak Crest, our full-service hair and manicure salon provides professional grooming for men and women. Our licensed cosmetologists offer haircuts, styling, coloring, perms, beard trims, and manicures in a comfortable setting. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. Stay confident and well-groomed with convenient, quality care.
The Shoppe
Running low on milk, need a birthday card or want to treat your guests to a sweet ice cream treat? No need to worry because all of this and more are available at our convenience store located right here in the main building. Here you can select from a wide array of grocery, necessity and gift items. Friendly volunteers are available to assist you and will make your shopping experience a breeze, just another great convenience that is only a few steps away.
Beautiful scenery
Oak Crest offers a scenic environment with landscaped gardens, peaceful ponds, and elegant fountains. Residents can walk along well-maintained paths, relax on shaded benches, or enjoy seasonal flowers and local wildlife. The natural surroundings provide a quiet, refreshing space for daily enjoyment.
The Chapel
Considered the jewel of the Oak Crest campus, The Bradt Chapel at Oak Crest serves as a central space for worship, reflection, and community gatherings. Open to people of all faiths, it hosts weekly religious services led by volunteer clergy. The chapel provides a quiet setting for personal reflection, prayer, and group worship, supporting the spiritual well-being of residents.
Transportation
Special event group transportation and individual transportation are just a phone call away. Oak Crest residents may contact Transvac, a DeKalb/Sycamore community transportation service, one of three taxi services now serving the communities of DeKalb and Sycamore or join other Oak Crest residents on a complimentary weekly scheduled trip to the local Wal-Mart Super Center. Whether shopping, medical appointments or an outing with friends thanks to a great transportation network everything is in close proximity to the Oak Crest campus.
Recreation Fun
There is always something to do, from a game of pool or round of cards, to joining a group of friends for a quick lunch in our French cafe. With a full time activity director and staff, there are a variety of activities and events planned from morning to night. Whatever your interest, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and have fun socializing and making new friends in the community.
