What is Oak Crest doing about coronavirus prevention, updated April 7, 2021.

Effective April 7, 2021

As a health care organization, we recognize that many people are concerned about the spread of infections, and most notably COVID-19.  Since older adults are more susceptible to infections, the organization continues to take the necessary precautions to prevent illnesses like the flu and COVID-19 from being transmitted to and within our community. As always, our commitment is to the safety and well-being of the residents, families, and staff who live, work, and visit our campus.

On April 5, 2021.  Oak Crest staff were tested for COVID-19.  One employee tested positive and is currently in isolation.  Oak Crest has in place infection control policies and protocols to address both resident and staff illnesses, as well as policies that ensure affected staff not report to work until they meet CDC health standards.

Due to the positive COVID test, the following restrictions have been initiated per IDPH guidelines:

  • Visitation is halted.
  • Beauty Shop and Pool have been closed.
  • PC in-person dining has ceased and take-out meal delivery will resume.
  • Group activities have been halted.

To resume the above, Oak Crest will continue weekly testing of residents and staff until a period of 14 days has passed without a positive test result.
